Sister Chris Schenk Publishes New Book On Early Christian Women

Sister Chris Schenk signs copies of her new book, Crispina and Her Sisters

On December 15th, Sister Chris Schenk, CSJ, had a new book published by Fortress Press. The book, Crispina and Her Sisters: Women and Authority in Early Christianity, explores early women in the history of Christianity, as well as women’s roles as persons of authority in the early church.

Sisters from our founding community of Cleveland came together in December to celebrate the publication with a book launch. At the event, Sister Chris shared information about the research that went into her writing, and also signed copies of the book.

“The book is dedicated to the Congregation of God’s great love, the Congregation of St. Joseph!” Sister Chris said.

Crispina and Her Sisters is available for purchase on Amazon and Barnes and Noble. Learn more about the book at Fortress Press.

Sister Chris also recently wrote about some of her findings on our blog, Beyond the Habit, which you can read here.
