Congregation Releases Statement Regarding the Violence in Charlottesville

We the Congregation of St. Joseph are dedicated to equality and to the belief that all people are created in the image of God. We work to encourage love and unity among all people, to embrace diversity, and to eradicate racism in our world.

As persons of faith who embrace the Gospel values of respect for the dignity of all persons and non‐violent, peaceful resolution of differences, we are deeply troubled by the events that recently took place in Charlottesville, Virginia. United with the Leadership Conference for Women Religious (LCWR), the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, hundreds of other faith leaders and organizations, and thousands of citizens, we continue our commitment to work towards a world without hatred, anger, and violence, and to encourage unity and inclusive love for all.

We also affirm the statement made by LCWR, of which our Congregation is a member.  You can read the LCWR Statement here.
