Marathon for a Ministry
 Ready … Set … and they’re almost off … to run in the Chicago Marathon on Sunday, October 7th as “Team Taller” to earn additional funding for CSJ ministry Taller de José (Joseph’s Workshop). Taller de José Board President Father Bob Casey (center) and compañeras (l-r) Maeve Raphelson, Kerry McGuire, Anna Mayer, and assistant director Lisa Monnot are asking you to sponsor their runs by pledging a dollar amount toward their goal of $5,000 to boost to the ministry’s resources. Taller staff members work with individuals and families in difficult circumstances and accompany them to access critical services they need. “We help them make phone calls they are afraid to make because of language barriers, lack of knowledge and simple fear,” Lisa explains on her blog. “We help them fill out forms, read letters, translate and provide emotional support. Then we walk with our clients from our office to the bus or train, and to accompany them to any appointment, court hearing or office they need visit so they have someone present to support them, guide them, teach them and listen to them.”
