New Associates Welcomed!

Six new associates were received in Wichita, Kansas in a ceremony on March 20, 2010. Pictured (left to right) are new associates Sue O’Brien, Janie Stein, Denise Northup, Martin Bates, and Mary Denny. A Kansas blizzard prevented Rita Sadowski, who is not pictured, from attending the ceremony. In addition, 19 associates celebrated their years of commitment to the congregation. One associate, Jean Therese Immenschuh, celebrated 30 years as an associate.

Louise Alcott Lutz (left) was received as an associate of the Congregation of St. Joseph on May 1, 2010 in Hayward, California. Irene Keeley (right) celebrated 15 years as an associate of the Wichita Center.

The California region of the Wichita Center has 25 associates, but currently no sisters reside in the bay area. In previous years, the sisters there had St. Rose Hospital and 3 schools in the San Francisco Bay area. The associates who reside in California are carrying on the mission and charism of the congregation on the West Coast.
