An independent, private, Catholic middle school, Our Lady of Guadalupe Middle School for Girls was founded in 2001 through a collaborative effort of four congregations of women religious: Religious Sisters of Mercy; Regional Community of Detroit; Sisters of St. Joseph of Nazareth, Michigan; Religious of the Sacred Heart, United States Province; and Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Monroe, Michigan; and by the collaboration of other women religious and lay women. The school is located in Southwest Detroit. This ministry is an effort to provide excellent education and support for girls in middle grades who are financially and educationally challenged. The children are from multi-ethnic backgrounds, and our participation flows from our charism of unity and reconciliation and an awareness of God’s inclusive love, especially for those who are marginalized.

Founded in 1890, St. Joseph Academy is the only all-girls Catholic high school in the city of Cleveland. With a capacity enrollment of 650 students, this accredited, comprehensive high school claims a student body that is sixty percent residents of the city of Cleveland. Forty percent of the students are at or below the federal poverty level, and ninety percent of graduating seniors are accepted into colleges and universities.

St. Joseph's Academy is a secondary school for girls in Baton Rouge, founded in 1868 by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Medaille and dedicated laypersons. Primarily a college preparatory school, the mission of the Academy is to educate young women as responsible and unifying members of the larger community by providing opportunities for academic excellence, faith development and personal growth. The current enrollment is about 800.

School on Wheels 1515 West Ogden Avenue LaGrange Park, IL 60526
School on Wheels is a mobile English literacy program. Through one-on-one teaching, primarily to immigrant students in their immediate neighborhoods, these adults become more self-sufficient. Since 1993, this traveling adult literacy program has served more than 1500 students in suburban DuPage and Cook Counties in Illinois. The program's new bus is custom fitted with ten learning stations. Currently there are more than 450 students and 300+ volunteer tutors.

Seeds of Literacy is an educational ministry begun in 1997 by the Congregation of St. Joseph, Cleveland, that provides basic education and GED preparation to the adult population in Cuyahoga County free of charge to its students. Initiated in 1997, the project’s focus is to provide, in an atmosphere of Christian care and compassion, help for adults in need of assistance in reading, writing, and math in order to improve their ability to function, compete, and advance in society. Our ten sites are located throughout different neighborhoods in the Cleveland community.

Tutors on Wheels 1515 West Ogden Avenue LaGrange Park, IL 60526
Tutors on Wheels (TOW) is an adult literacy program that offers free ESL classes to low-income minority immigrants living and working in several suburban communities in DuPage County, Illinois: Naperville, Wheaton, Glendale Heights, and Addison. Students receive one-on-one tutoring right in their own neighborhoods, job sites, or local churches. TOW builds on the Sisters' original literacy program, School on Wheels, but is not attached to a mobile classroom. Volunteers go to churches, businesses, or social service agencies and teach students English literacy or GED classes, or offer help with passing the citizenship test. Tutor training of 2-3 hours and teaching materials are provided.
